LABOR UPDATES

• 48 Cannabis workers at Rise Dispensary in Effingham, Illinois are unionizing with the UFCW
• 111 workers at REI in Berkley are unionizing with the UFCW
• 180 cultural workers at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures are unionizing with AFSCME
• More than 500 Starbucks now have union petitions
• According to the DSA, “One message we can take to our unions is that having the best health benefits won’t mean a thing if we are denied our right to health care—if we are denied our *right to abortion*. In order to provide for their members, unions must take on the fight for abortion justice.”
• Thousands of workers formed an independent union at a GM auto plant in Silao, in central Mexico, voting out a corporate-supported union that did not operate in their interest. 
• THE VOTES ARE IN: Thousands of casino workers cast ballots today and 96% have voted in favor of authorizing the worker negotiation committee to call a strike if an agreement is not reached with Caesars, Harrah’s, Tropicana, and Borgata, by July 1st and Hard Rock by July 3rd.
• More than 40 Chipotle locations are currently organizing throughout the country
• Jack in the Box locations in California and Texas are now under union attack
